Heather Gall - Artist With Attitude

Heather regularly produces flamboyant original works, cards and prints of Farm Animals and Australian Wildlife in her “Animals with Attitude” series which are permanently exhibited at the Peace of Green Artists Gallery in Maleny, Queensland.
A child of the bush of South West Queensland, she is influenced by the natural environment and has a particular passion for Australian landscape and wildlife. She has also illustrated children’s books for Author/ Environmental Publisher Jill Morris.
Heather believes life experiences and personal experiences influence the way in which you see things, and since living at Maleny, she has found paradise in her own back yard, living on the family dairy with husband David and two children.
Her current body of work has a more contemporary flavor reflecting the designs within the natural world. Heather is fascinated by the random harmony that occurs in the design, texture and color of natural objects and living matter. From a microcosmic perspective these elements are even more evident.
She is also interested in the musicality of the landscape and has been exploring the concept of musical and environmental synaesthesia. This is a random response that music and environmental sounds and moods can evoke in her application of paint. Heather will select a particular genre of music or immerse herself in the stimulus of a natural environment and rhythmically apply the paint with a spontaneous choice of color and texture. The challenge is to then resolve the abstract image into a harmonious and balanced composition.
Although Heather presents very visually different bodies of work, they are inextricably linked by the aural and visual stimulus of the environment and the interpretation and emotional response from her.
